WealthCounsel Appoints Valerie Peterson, JD, as New Chief Executive Officer
JERSEY CITY, N.J. Nov. 17, 2025 — WealthCounsel announces today the appointment of Valerie Peterson, JD, as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 2026. Valerie will succeed Rachel Grantham, who is serving as interim CEO of WealthCounsel following the resignation of Henna Shah, as previously announced in October 2025.
Valerie is an experienced executive, having served as the CEO of ElderCounsel for 14 years and as the CEO of Atticus for the past 2½ years. She is also a seasoned estate planning and elder law attorney, having practiced for 11 years, during which she opened her own law offices in Kansas and Florida. Valerie graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 1997 and has contributed to legal education as an adjunct professor at Stetson Law School, where she taught the Veterans Benefits course to elder law LLM students.
