IRS PUBLICATION 15A – EMPLOYER’S SUPPLEMENTAL TAX GUIDE
This publication supplements IRS Publication 15 (Circular E) and contains detailed employment tax information.
FORM SS-4 – APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
This form is used to apply for an EIN, the nine-digit number used by businesses for tax filing and reporting purposes.
IRS FORM 8832
This is the IRS form used to elect to treat an entity as a corporation, as a partnership, or as a disregarded entity for income tax purposes. Completing and filing this form is an essential part of properly setting up a new business entity or changing the tax classification of an existing entity.
IRS FORM 2553
This is the IRS form used to elect to tax an entity as an S corporation as allowed under IRC sec. 1362 to allow pass-through tax treatment on corporate income. This form is also used to elect Qualified Subchapter S Trust (QSST) treatment as allowed under IRC sec. 1361(d)(2).
