Laura Wilson
Executive Director
As Executive Director for WealthCounsel, LLC, Laura develops strategies to achieve the company’s goals and objectives, formulates corporate policies and procedures, and directs the operations of the various departments. Having been with WealthCounsel for nearly four years, Laura brings to the company more than 20 years of experience as a consultant to legal organizations, primarily in the areas of practice management, business development, and team training. In addition to overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations and ensuring the economic value alignment of services provided to WealthCounsel’s subscribing members, Laura is active in a number of non-profit and professional organizations. She serves on the board of directors of Wisconsin-based ElderCare, Inc., an organization focused on independent living issues, and is past president of the National Cancer Society in Middleton, WI. Laura is also an active member of the National Association of Legal Administrators and the Legal Marketing Association.
Jenny Ellingson
Director of Project Management & Employee Relations
As Project Manager, Jenny is responsible for overseeing and integrating major initiatives that cross over multiple departments in WealthCounsel. As the Director of Employee Relations, she is charged with the development, training, and morale/welfare of all WealthCounsel employees. Prior to joining WealthCounsel in October 2007, Jenny served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. She worked as a Program Manager in Space Command and instructed Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) classes at the University of Central Florida. Jenny received her M.S. in Management from the University of Central Florida, and her B.S. in Human Resources Management at the University of Idaho.
Marlene Frith
Director of Marketing & Business Development
Marlene leads WealthCounsel’s marketing, public relations, and business development initiatives, and is also responsible for the company's communications outreach to WealthCounsel members. She brings to the company more than 15 years of progressive accomplishments as a communications and marketing executive in a variety of industry settings, including high-tech, financial services, manufacturing, and government. Marlene began her early career as a Congressional aide on Capitol Hill and has been active in a variety of legislative campaigns at the state and national levels. She holds a communications degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and is a member of the board of directors of the Financial Planning Association of Central Florida in Orlando.

Randy Gardner
Director of Education
Randy is the Director of Education for WealthCounsel, LLC. Randy is also a Professor of Tax and Financial Planning and Director of the Certificate in Financial Planning Program at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He is coauthor of the books, 101 Tax Saving Ideas and Tools and Techniques of Income Tax Planning, and is a highly rated discussion leader. In 1997, he was recognized as Educator of the Year by the Missouri Society of CPAs. Randy serves on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Financial Planning and the Council on Examinations of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He has written dozens of articles for publications such as The Journal of Financial Planning, Taxation for Accountants, Practical Tax Strategies, and Tax Adviser. Randy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Harvard University; his JD and MBA degrees from the University of Kansas; and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He is also a graduate of Georgia State University’s Master Teacher Program.
Kristine Hynes
Director of Member Services
Based out of Seattle, Kristine manages all aspects of Member Services. She plays a vital role in WealthCounsel’s efforts to develop and implement new and innovative ways of providing service to our members. Prior to joining WealthCounsel, Kristine worked for a Fortune 500 company. It is this experience which has enabled her to excel in her varied duties here at WealthCounsel. Kristine has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix as well as an Associates of Applied Arts from the Seattle Art Institute in Fashion Marketing.
Blair Janis, J. D.
Director of Software & Technology
Blair recently succeeded former Director of Software & Technology Brian Albee, J.D., who remains with the WealthCounsel family of companies as the Director of Technology for ElderCounsel. Blair brings over 15 years of programming experience in various industries including higher education, telephony, aviation, government, and legal. Prior to joining WealthCounsel in May 2007, Blair was the Practice Applications Manager at Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, where he developed and applied practice-specific technology for the firm's 450+ attorneys. Blair received his JD, cum laude, in April, 2001 from the J. Rueben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University where he is currently adjunct faculty teaching two legal-technology courses.
Matthew T. McClintock, J.D.
Director of Continuous Improvement & Member Collaboration
Matt oversees editorial development of WealthDocs, WealthCounsel's industry-leading document assembly software. Matt also provides in-depth legal support to member attorneys concerning estate planning issues and coordinates collaborative projects by member attorneys. Matt serves as teaching faculty for WealthCounsel's multi-day EP100 and EP101 courses, and provides input and oversight to the continuous improvement process, helping to ensure excellence and consistency in all of WealthCounsel's products and services. Matt is admitted to practice law before the Oklahoma and United States Supreme Courts.
Roberta Trudeau
Director of Recruitment & Retention
Robbie leads the member recruitment and retention department and is one of the company’s founding principals. She began her career as a securities broker for a family office in New York City in 1975. Since that time she has held sales and marketing executive positions in the financial services and legal education and technology industries and helped found five investment and legal support companies; the most recent: WealthCounsel, WealthCounsel Advisors Forum and ElderCounsel.
