As CEO of The WealthCounsel Companies, Brett Pinegar understands WealthCounsel exists to help each member grow profitable and sustainable practices. Brett has served as CEO for several companies, including Akopia, a software company acquired by Red Hat, and as a consultant to many more. He brings tremendous experience and leadership to WealthCounsel and understands our mission and collegial culture.

As Vice President, General Counsel, and Editor-in-Chief, Jason serves as the chief legal officer of The WealthCounsel Companies and also oversees the development and continuous improvement of all editorial content published through its education and various software offerings. He is founding co-member of the law firm of Havens & Miller, P.L.L.C. and is an active member of The Florida Bar, the Tennessee Bar, and the American Bar Association. Jason is board certified in both states where he is admitted: as a Board Certified Specialist in Wills, Trusts, and Estates Law (Florida) and as an Estate Planning Law Specialist (Tennessee). He is also AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to having published numerous articles on estate planning, Jason has lectured at various programs on estate planning, including the 37th Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning.

As Vice President of Sales for WealthCounsel and The Advisors Forum, John is charged with formulating and executing the sales growth strategy for both companies. John brings to WealthCounsel 20 years of sales leadership experience mostly concentrated in the areas of consulting and business process outsourcing. Prior to joining WealthCounsel, John headed the sales efforts for Automatic Data Processing’s Small Business Division in the Southeast. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from California State University, Chico.
 

Emma Cummings

As the Education Operations Director, Emma oversees the delivery of all education on behalf of the WealthCounsel Companies. Before joining WealthCounsel in 2009, Emma worked for a Corporate Coach and Professor, delivering education to Business Management Students and assisting with leadership development recommendations for Executives seeking coaching. Emma also worked as a Flight Attendant and Purser for American Airlines, where she developed her Leadership and Customer Service skills. She obtained her M.S. in Management at the University of Central Florida, and completed her undergraduate degree at Furman University.
 

Laura Curtiss

Laura is responsible for the accounting and finance organization for WealthCounsel and The Advisors Forum, including financial reporting, banking and accounting. Prior to joining WealthCounsel in 2009, Laura led accounting and finance operations at various public and private firms in California and Wisconsin. She was also a manager for KPMG in Silicon Valley where she provided financial, managerial and systems consulting to a wide variety of emerging and high-growth clients. Laura received her B.A. degree in Business Administration – Accounting, from the University of Washington, Seattle.
 

Jenny Ellingson

As the Director of Employee Relations, Jenny is charged with the development, training, and morale/welfare of all WealthCounsel employees. Prior to joining WealthCounsel in October 2007, Jenny served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. She worked as a Program Manager in Space Command and instructed Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) classes at the University of Central Florida. Jenny received her M.S. in Management from the University of Central Florida, and her B.S. in Human Resources Management at the University of Idaho.
 

Marlene Hoover Frith, A.P.R.

Marlene directs WealthCounsel’s marketing and public relations initiatives. She brings to WealthCounsel more than 15 years of progressive accomplishments in the corporate sector relating to national brand building, sales development and strategic alliances. Prior to her marketing career in the business sector, Marlene served as a Congressional aide on Capitol Hill and later as a political consultant for state and national campaigns. As a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Marlene earned the public relations credential (APR) requiring longevity in practice and mastery in the field. She received her communications degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

Kristine joined WealthCounsel in 2005. In the time she has been at WealthCounsel she has played a vital role in the efforts to develop and implement new and innovative ways of providing service to our members. Prior to joining WealthCounsel, Kristine was on the Technology Support management team for a Fortune 500 company. It is this experience which has enabled her to excel in her varied duties here at WealthCounsel. Kristine received her B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
 

Blair Janis, J.D.

Blair oversees the development of all WealthCounsel software applications as well as internal IT.  Blair has over 20 years of programming and system development experience in various industries including higher education, telephony, aviation, government, and legal. Prior to joining WealthCounsel in May 2007, Blair was the Practice Applications Manager at Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, where he developed and applied practice-specific technology for the firm's 450+ attorneys. Blair is also adjunct faculty at the BYU Law School where he teaches courses in legal and practice technology.  Blair received his JD, cum laude, in April, 2001 from the BYU Law School.
